Editorial Policy: How We Verify Every Number
By Keith Baxter, Editor, Year-Ready Pantry · Last updated: October 17, 2026
This site makes one promise: every fact is checkable. This policy explains where product facts come from, how ratings are scored, and how affiliate money is kept away from the verdicts.
1. Facts come from the merchant page, and we say so
Every product fact published on this site (price, calories, servings, bucket dimensions, shelf life, ratings) is taken from the merchant product page and stored in our fact database with a verification date. Where a fact is a merchant claim, we label it as one.
2. We show the arithmetic
Cost-per-day, per-serving and per-person figures are always shown with the division that produced them. If you cannot reproduce a number on this site from published facts, that is a bug: report it via the contact page.
3. Commissions do not change rankings
We earn affiliate commissions, which creates a real conflict of interest. Our controls: one primary product per category, criteria and weights published with each review, and criticism of the products we recommend kept in the body of the review, not the footnote.
4. Updates and corrections
- Prices and promotions change; verified facts carry the date they were checked
- Reader-submitted corrections are reviewed before the next content revision
- Substantive changes to a review are reflected in the on-page verdict text
5. Independence
Year-Ready Pantry is an independent review site. We are not affiliated with My Patriot Supply or any merchant we review, and no merchant previews, approves or edits our verdicts before publication.
